Vehicles in Germany's Town Found Smeared with Nazi Symbols in Blood, Police Confirm

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Law Enforcement
Officers mentioned they were contacted by a individual who found a car in Hanau covered with red-colored fluid

Roughly fifty vehicles have been marked with what appears to be blood from a person in the Germany's municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.

Automobiles, exterior walls and mailboxes were vandalized, occasionally with swastikas, they stated in a statement.

Law enforcement report they were alerted late on Wednesday, when a man noticed that a vehicle in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been covered with a red-colored substance.

The fluid had been placed in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they stated.

Law enforcement then found many other marked automobiles and house walls in the surrounding area.

Swastikas are illegal in Germany under laws prohibiting the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.

Law enforcement state initial examinations suggest the liquid was most likely human bodily fluid.

"At present there remains no clue as to its source; authorities are presently not informed of any harm in relation with the incident," they stated.

City officials stated they were attempting "to unravel the mystery" and have asked to the community for details.

An important political figure stated the vandalism made him without words and required to be solved promptly.

"This act strikes at the center of Hanau and reopens the wounds of the far-right terrorist attack five years ago," he stated on social media, mentioning the killing of nine people by a shooter aiming at residents of foreign heritage in five years prior.
